Mr Bill Papastergiadis OAM

President of the Greek Community of Melbourne 

Bill Papastergiadis OAM is a highly accomplished construction lawyer and a leader of a number of peak sporting and community organisations.

Since 2008, he has acted as the Managing Partner of Moray & Agnew, Melbourne. This preeminent law firm has over 700 employees nationally and is one of the top 10 largest firms in Australia. Under Bill’s his stewardship, Moray & Agnew’s Melbourne office was rated as the fastest growing law firm in

Victoria for a number of years in succession.

Bill has been ranked in Australia and Asia as one of the top 10 lawyers by the Australasian Legal Business Review and has been consistently ranked in the top 40 lawyers in Australia and Asia for a number of years.

In addition to his legal career, Bill has long been involved in multicultural affairs, gained through his elected position as the President of the Greek Community of Melbourne & Victoria, a position he has held since January 2008. Through this role, Bill has devoted much of the last 16 years to the

promotion and welfare of the Australian Greek diaspora.

Bill’s active involvement in many multicultural programs also extends to his roles as Chairman of South Melbourne Football Club, Director of the Hellenic Initiative, former Chair and longstanding member of the board of Alphington Grammar School, member of the board of the Melbourne

University Humanities Foundation, and an appointment by the Victorian Government as a Commissioner of the Victorian Multicultural Commission.

Bill has also been awarded the Order of Australia Medal for service to the Greek Community.
