Senator Fatima Payman
Federal Senator for WA
Fatima Payman is a Senator for Western Australia. She is an Australian Muslim with cultural roots from Afghanistan. Her father arrived in Australia as a refugee and his experience working around the clock to provide for her, her mother and her siblings instilled in Fatima the values of hard work and perseverance.
Fatima put her hand up to represent all Western Australians, she is the youngest member of the 47th Parliament and the first hijab-wearing women to be elected to the Australian Parliament. Fatima is passionate about representing hardworking Australians, as well as breaking down barriers for women and young people, and encouraging them to voice their opinions.
